Pleasing Aroma

In my devotions this morning I read about the aroma our lives lived for Christ radiate to God. I've pondered this many times reading through the Old Testament. You see continuously how the burnt offerings/sacrifices gave a sweet aroma that rose up to God. It always makes me think if my life is a pleasing scent to the Lord. In 2 Corinthians 2:14 it says "For we are a fragrance of Christ to God..." Just like the sacrifice the Israelites made from their flocks to follow the commands of the Lord, we too, when we become doers of the Word and not just hearers and make those sacrifices He calls us to make, are a sweet aroma to God. Our everyday worship to God is a sweet aroma. Not just to God but to the people we are around daily. The question I read this morning rings in my head. "What do people think about God as a result of being around me?" Ask yourself the same question and meditate on it. Is there something in your life that needs to change? Remember a life lived for God is a pleasing aroma.
