Raised For Leadership

This past week I received an invitation to a meeting. It took my breath away at first. I'm still in a daze. I know God is preparing me for something big. It's still a fog, I don't know what it is but I know it must be big. Below is a copy of what I received.

To those interested in teaching/preaching to adults,

I have scheduled a meeting for Thursday, the 3rd of June at 7:00 pm to go over with you some things that are in my heart about raising up adult teachers/preachers/leaders in our church. This has been an area that is lacking in my ministry. You are one that has come to mind that might be interested in being involved. I hope you can come. There is no commitment at this point. I encourage you to come and find out what is on my heart. Please see the enclosed Ministry Description until then. I'll even serve you coffee and dessert for coming that night. Let me know if you are planning on coming. Blessings!

In the ministry description there were a couple of DUTIES that caught my attention. Humorously!!

#7 Remember the 3 unpardonable "sins" of a preacher
  1. Bad breath
  2. body odor
  3. boring

#8 Remember that there is nothing wrong with being "short." Few are the teachers that can keep the attention of people beyond 45 minutes. Contrary to what you might think-you are not Dr. David Jeremiah, Chuck Swindoll, Charles Stanley, etc. Plan on speaking 30 minutes or less on a Sunday and 45 minutes or less on Wednesday evening.
